Jilin China - Ji Lin Org

Jilin in Chinese characters means forest of Fortune. It is located in the central part of China; its capital city is Changchun. It borders Russia and Korea in the east, Lianong for the south, Heilongjiang in the north and Inner Mongolia to the west. The Province name was derived from Girin ula, a Manchu term which means along the river. The location of the province contributes to the different ethnic groups that lives in the said province, these are, Han Chinese, Hui, Mongols and Xibe.

This province is one of the most important provinces of china in economic basis. In agriculture, Jilin is one of the nation largest grain output. It is rich in forest resources, and the major forest area that produces pine tress and traditional Chinese herbs is the Changbai Mountain.

The highest peak of the province is Baiyun Peak at 2691m. Jilinhada Mountains, Zhang Guangcai Mountains and Longgang Mountains are the other mountains in the province. These mountain ranges offers very beautiful forest scenery, wild animals and plants are also preserved in the jungle of the province. The base of Internatinal Scientific Research into Chna indigenous wildlife is at Wolong of Sichuan province and Dinghu Mountain of Guangdong Province.

Automotive industry of China is centered in changchum where the best auto manufacturer is based.

Jilin range of temperature is from -5 degree to 35 degree Celsius from winter to summer respectively.

Historical sites of this province includes Goguryeo sites, tombs of Wandu, Guknae Seong and Pyramidal General Tomb in Jilin Jilin are listed in Unesco World Heritage Site.

Jilin is also with mineral resources of coal, iron, copper and gold.
